Which Scheduling Software Is Easier to Use: Acuity or Calendly?

Calendly and Acuity are pretty well matched in terms of navigation and implementation. Calendly comes with a clean interface and requires only a basic understanding of online navigation, which makes it easy for users to navigate.

Acuity, however, is even simpler when it comes to user experience. The platform comes with preset preferences for the more complex aspects of scheduling, so users typically only need to change a few settings to fit their personal preferences.

Calendar Customization Rules

On Calendly, calendar customization works similarly to the web version of Microsoft Outlook in its ability to edit and share calendar information. When you schedule a meeting, you’ll receive a unique link to share with others, and you can also control who has access to that link.

Calendly also lets users create rules for scheduling meetings according to their preferences. For example, the rules may set a maximum number of meetings for a particular day or a time buffer for before and after the meeting.

Acuity has customization rules similar to Calendly. However, Acuity doesn’t provide a sharable user link. Instead, those with access to the system can view the calendar of events via email, social media, or the company website, and the information is constantly updated.

Calendly offers a freemium version that allows for basic scheduling automation and allows one owner per Calendly account. The free plan is only available to just one user, and you can only have access to one calendar template.

Scheduling Appointments: Calendly vs Acuity Features

Calendly’s major focus is scheduling appointments, sending reminders and follow-up messages, and the platform allows users access to up to six external calendars to schedule meetings. It also allows users to program calendars for clients and work networks with specific rules. For external meetings, the platform generates a link that you can share with meeting participants.

Acuity, however, offers more flexibility in this regard. The platform allows the client and the “site coordinator” (who sets up the meeting) to view scheduled meetings in real-time. Like Calendly, Acuity sends notifications of meetings to participants. As a plus, Acuity uses the time zone of each client so that they know exactly when they are due, and meetings can be registered in your local time to avoid scheduling conflicts.

Which Platform’s Customer Support Is More Reliable: Calendly or Acuity?

Calendly offers support to all users. However, users on the free and Essential plans enjoy basic customer support restricted to help center access and email support. Customers on the Professional plan and above enjoy priority support.

Acuity comes with a large knowledge base for basic support issues and self-service, as well as linked how-to articles on implementing and navigating the software. The platform also provides videos and live webinars by the platform’s developers.

Calendly vs Acuity Features and Pricing: Bottom Line

Although Calendly is less expensive than Acuity, Acuity provides more features across all its paid plans and thus provides more value.

Calendly focuses on schedule automation and collaboration, whereas Acuity is aimed at users who want to replace multiple admin systems with a single cloud-based tool. Acuity offers features beyond automated scheduling and includes features like accounting and client database management tools on its platform.

This means that Calendly is a great fit for businesses that already have other databases and accounting software.

Acuity, on the other hand, is a better fit for businesses that need an all-in-one tool for their administrative and business needs.
