If you are having a hard time turning off auto updates on your Windows 10 device, then you are in the right place. Here, we’ll share with you useful tips on how to turn off auto updates on Windows 10.
Windows 10 often checks for updates, and if there is one, it will automatically update itself (download and install) immediately without your consent. It was designed to function this way, however, it makes it more difficult to turn off the auto-update of this operating system, unlike the previous versions.
Read on as we walk you through how to disable the automatic updates feature.
Why is Windows Update Important?
Windows update is an integral part of an operating system that frequently checks Microsoft Servers for any update. If it finds one, it notifies you and asks for permission to download and install them.
Windows update is very helpful in improving the reliability, security, stability, and the system performance.
For instance, on Windows XP, you can either download and install updates either manually or automatically. You can choose from any of the options.
However, on Windows 10, you are not given that option to choose. This why the operating system just downloads and installs an update automatically without notifying you.
